The FMFPAX Board-Feed V-Cut PCB Separator MRD-908 / MRD-908S is a motor-driven circular-blade depaneling machine that separates PCB panels along pre-scored V-CUT grooves with low bending stress, helping prevent solder joint cracks. It handles boards 0.6–1.6 mm thick at an adjustable 0–200 mm/s and is available in AC 110V and AC 220V versions.

Structure and Controls

• Lift knob – adjusts the gap between the upper and lower blades.
• Limit guard adjusting screw / locking screw – set and lock the upper limit guard.

Installing the Platform

1. Place the machine on a stable workbench.
2. Loosen the lift knob until the blade gap is at maximum, tilt the platform and lower it into place slightly below the lower blade edge.
3. Install the platform fixing screws.

Operation

Blade adjustment

1. Lower the lift knob until the lower blade just drives the upper (driven) blade.
2. MRD-908S: set the limit slider to the panel width.
3. Adjust the micrometer to the board thickness: the board should slide left and right along the V-groove but not forward or backward. Trial-cut; if it does not separate, tighten the lift knob slightly.

Limit guard adjustment

• Upper guard: loosen its screw, align the V-CUT with the guard tips, adjust the micrometer until the board meets slight resistance, then tighten.
• Lower guard: set its V-tip 0.2–0.3 mm lower than the lower blade, then tighten.

Start-up and finishing

Switch on the power rocker switch, then the toggle switch. Turn the speed knob slightly, feed the PCB gently by hand and observe. Increase speed only after a clean test cut. Catch the separated board by hand so it does not fall or spring off.

Precautions

• Never let the upper and lower blades touch vertically; they must stay offset left–right.
• Do not loosen nuts or unlisted screws above the upper blade seat, or the motor fastening screws.
• Operation by designated, trained personnel only. The electrical system must be grounded.
• Confirm the machine voltage (AC 110V or AC 220V version) matches the local mains before connecting.

Maintenance

• Remove cutting debris after each session; protect guards and blade edges.
• For long storage, remove guards and blades and coat them with machine oil; wipe before use.
• Check that all screws are tight at regular intervals.

FAQ

What PCB thickness can the MRD-908 / MRD-908S cut?

0.6 mm to 1.6 mm, along a pre-scored V-CUT groove.

What is the difference between the MRD-908 and MRD-908S?

The MRD-908S is wider (W400 mm vs W300 mm) and includes a limit slider that is set to the panel width.

Is a 110V version available?

Yes. The machine comes in AC 110V and AC 220V versions; specify the voltage when ordering.

Do I need to adjust the blade side gap?

Normally no. It is factory-set to approx. 0.05–0.1 mm.

Can it handle boards with tall components?
