This GSM fabric sampling set combines a 100 cm2 rotary fabric sample cutter with a 1000g x 0.01g digital electronic balance for measuring fabric weight per square meter.
The cutter produces a 100 cm2 (0.01 m2) sample. After weighing the sample, multiply the gram reading by 100 to calculate GSM. For example, a 3g sample equals 300g/m2.

Applications
Suitable for GSM sampling and weighing of thin textile materials including cotton, wool, silk, linen and chemical fiber fabrics.
The set can also be used for one-time cutting of thin leather, thin cardboard and thin aluminum foil. For cardboard or other thick materials at 3 mm or thicker, use the manual press type GSM cutter instead; consult customer service for that version.
How GSM Measurement Works
- Place the fabric flat on the rubber pad.
- Position the GSM cutter on the material, release the safety lock and rotate the handle clockwise to cut the circular sample.
- Return the safety lock after cutting and remove the waste material.
- Weigh the 100 cm2 fabric sample on the electronic balance.
- Multiply the gram reading by 100 to get the fabric GSM value.
