Electric Pencil Hardness Tester for Coating Paint Film

This electric pencil hardness tester is used for coating paint film scratch hardness tests on finished sprayed product shells. It is suitable for checking coated surfaces on mobile phone shells, MP4 player housings, laptop housings, home-appliance enclosures, and similar digital product shells where a controlled pencil hardness test is required.

The machine is available in 110V and 220V variants. Select the voltage that matches your site power before checkout.

The machine uses semi-automatic electric control. A stepper motor and transmission mechanism move the test platform forward and backward, helping the pencil hardness test run with stable motion and lower operator variation than a hand-held scratch check.

Key Features

  • Electric pencil hardness tester for sprayed coating, paint film, and finished product shell testing.
  • 110V and 220V voltage options are available for ordering.
  • 45 degree pencil test angle for consistent pencil contact with the coating surface.
  • Adjustable load setup using the supplied 500 g, 250 g, and 250 g weights.
  • Adjustable platform movement speed and adjustable test travel for different internal test setups.
  • Stepper-motor driven forward and backward motion with front-panel left, stop, and right controls.
  • Approx. 12 x 17 cm sample platform for holding the test sample in position.
  • Includes a standard 6B to 6H pencil set, 13 pencils total, plus one weight set.

How the Pencil Hardness Test Works

The pencil is fixed at a 45 degree angle so the pencil lead contacts the coating surface. With the selected load applied, the platform moves the sample under the pencil lead. The coating hardness is judged by checking which pencil grade marks or scratches the coating surface according to your test method requirements.

Set the load, movement speed, and stroke according to your internal coating hardness test procedure before starting the test.

When to Choose This Tester

  • Use it when you need repeatable pencil hardness checks for coating paint film on finished product shells.
  • Choose it for mobile phone shell, MP4 housing, laptop housing, and appliance enclosure coating tests when the sample fits the platform.
  • Use the supplied 6B-6H pencil set to compare coating response across standard pencil grades.

Before Ordering

  • Select 110V or 220V from the Voltage option before checkout.
  • Confirm that the selected voltage matches your site power requirements.
  • Confirm the required load, platform speed, stroke setting, and pencil grade sequence for your test procedure.
  • Confirm that the sample size fits the approx. 12 x 17 cm platform before ordering.
