The FMF manual vial crimper is a handheld bottle capper and hand sealing tool for closing compatible aluminum or plastic-aluminum caps around glass vial mouths. It requires no electrical supply. Select the crimper by cap bottom diameter, cap construction and bottle-neck shape.

Use the cap base diameter and cap construction to choose the matching 13 mm or 20 mm crimper.

How to Select the Correct Crimper

  1. Measure the bottom outside diameter of the cap.
  2. Identify whether the cap is pure aluminum, plastic-aluminum or 15 mm C-type.
  3. For a 20 mm cap, confirm whether the bottle has a standard or coarse neck.
  4. Select 20A for a coarse-neck plastic-aluminum cap or 20B for a coarse-neck pure aluminum cap.

Each crimping head is made for one cap size and construction. The heads are not interchangeable. For the corresponding 13 mm and 20 mm selections, a measured cap-diameter difference of approximately 0.5 mm is acceptable.

How to Use the Hand Crimper

  1. Place the inner stopper inside the outer cap and position the assembled cap on the glass bottle.
  2. Insert the capped bottle mouth into the crimping head.
  3. Squeeze the handles gently until the head closes around the cap.
  4. Release the handles and check that the cap is secure.
  5. If adjustment is needed, turn the crimping head clockwise to loosen or counterclockwise to tighten.
